The Seiko 6105-8110 is one of the most iconic dive watches around. Nicknamed the Captain Willard as it was worn by Martin Sheen's character in Apocalypse Now. This is one of the nicest examples that I have seen. The dial retaining ring is made from plastic and is prone to breaking. I have a number of NOS dial rings in stock and a new one was installed as this one was cracked. It also needed a new mainspring installed, and I still have a couple of NOS Seiko springs in stock.
To renew the water resistance on it, the crown was opened up and rebuilt with a new gasket. the movement received a complete overhaul and by the time we were finished it was running within COSC standards, as generally these movements can be made to keep time very well. Usually, the barrel bearing surfaces are very worn, but in this case they were in great condition so no boring out of the main-plate was needed.
